Dr. Baber Khan is an experienced M&E Consultant and Value Chain Specialist with over 15 years of experience in livestock and agricultural value chains, rural development, agribusiness, and applied research. He brings a unique blend of academic expertise and hands-on field experience, having worked extensively across Afghanistan and internationally on projects that strengthen agricultural systems and artisan livelihoods.
He holds an MSc in Livestock Value Chains and Agricultural Production Chain Management from VHL University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, alongside a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan. His qualifications are complemented by a Diploma in Leadership from the Institute of Leadership Development in Kabul.
Dr. Baber has led numerous national and regional studies, including value chain analyses, feasibility assessments, and market-based development initiatives. His expertise spans value chain upgrading, stakeholder consultation, monitoring and evaluation, and business plan development for SMEs and producer groups. He is also adept at conducting pre-feasibility studies with financial and cost-benefit analysis, ensuring that recommendations are both evidence-based and practical.
At Shatoot Consultants, Dr. Ahmadzai serves as Senior Research and M&E Consultant, where he leads research assignments, designs methodologies, and delivers actionable insights that inform donor programming, private sector strategies, and policy development.
