Building NGO Capacity for Community Engagement and Conflict Resolution

In December 2025, the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat (AKAH) partnered with Shatoot Consultants to strengthen the skills of its frontline staff through a five‑day intensive training program in Kabul.

The program brought together 31 participants from across Afghanistan, including social mobilizers, managers, and technical staff. Through interactive workshops, role‑plays, and case studies, participants enhanced their capacity in community engagement, stakeholder negotiation, and conflict resolution.

Pre‑ and post‑training assessments showed significant improvement in technical comprehension, while participant feedback highlighted the relevance of the curriculum and the trainers’ expertise. The training not only equipped staff with practical tools but also fostered collaboration and peer learning across AKAH’s teams.

By investing in this capacity‑building initiative, AKAH reaffirmed its commitment to resilient, inclusive, and empowered communities across Afghanistan.
