Empowering an International Organization Through Knowledge Sharing

Spending on staff capacity building in NGOs is a long-term investment in improved community outcomes.

In mid‑2024, Cordaid‑Afghanistan, a leading humanitarian and development organization operating across multiple Afghan provinces, engaged Shatoot Consultants to design and implement a five‑month capacity‑building program, strengthening the skills of more than 50 staff members from its Kabul headquarters and provincial offices.

The program covered 20 professional and technical topics, ranging from strategic planning, leadership, and result-based management to stress management, negotiation, and data analysis. Through participatory methods and real-world application, the training equipped Cordaid’s staff with essential tools to enhance operational performance, improve communication, and strengthen cross-departmental collaboration.

The Project Management Professional (PMP) certification sessions, delivered by PMI-authorized trainers, were particularly impactful, empowering staff to apply internationally recognized project management standards within their programs.

The training program included:

  • Strategic Planning
